Student Reviews from ARC 334L Environmental Controls II (00860) Spring 2026:

This course was one of my favorites that I’ve taken during my time here! The class was very organized and very interesting. I appreciated the structure of the lectures, and especially the real-life examples that Professor Simon included. He clearly knows what he is teaching and is eager to provide additional help to students who need it. I will miss this course, but I am excited to apply my knowledge to future projects.

I loved the professor’s ability to explain the topics with enthusiasm and excitement that made me excited to learn.

Keith is always super organized and intentional with his lectures and overall structure of the course. He acknowledged our bandwidth as arch students by constantly checking in and had much empathy for us during the intensive parts of the semester. His overall effective craft in teaching, alongside his undoubted expertise over discussed topics, paired with his ability to empathize with students made me feel seen, heard, cared about, and furthered my overall respect for him as a professor.

Lectures and lecture format were super helpful! Professor Simon is very informative and cares very much about the subject matter and his students. I enjoyed this course and the subject matter.

The engaging lectures by the instructor Keith Simon were the most helpful in my learning, especially when he would invite guest speakers and prepare fun activities during them. I also really appreciate the clear expectations for quizzes and assignments with enough time in advance to minimize as much confusion as possible.

The most effective aspect of the course in supporting my learning was how clearly and thoroughly the information was presented. The material was organized in a way that made complex environmental systems easier to understand. I especially appreciate the use of precedents and real examples, as they helped translate technical concepts into real-world applications. Learning through these examples made the content more engaging and allowed me to better understand how environmental strategies are implemented in practice. I also really valued the site visits, as they allowed me to see these systems in person and directly connect what we were learning in class to built projects.

He was passionate and always willing and eager to help students succeed.

Professor Simon clearly communicated course material as well as showed consistent engagement throughout the semester, which helped make lectures and learning overall more enjoyable.

nothing (one student actually wrote this - oh well - I guess you can’t please everybody!)
